Matt Damon talks ‘Ford v Ferrari’ with Jay Leno
The actor who plays Carroll Shelby chats up the film on ‘Jay Leno’s Garage’
Ahead of the release of the blockbuster biopic “Ford v. Ferrari,” star Matt Damon swings by “Jay Leno’s Garage” to talk about the movie. If you’re somehow unfamiliar with the movie, or the history inspiring it, Jay Leno quickly brings you up to speed about its major characters and the reason why Ford set out to win Le Mans in the mid-1960s.
Leno gives the movie a glowing review—good news for those of us with high expectations about the upcoming film. Leno, a friend of the late Carroll Shelby, gives a similarly positive review of Damon’s portrayal of the late racer. Shelby’s son was also moved enough by Damon’s acting that he asked Leno to give Damon a commemorative coin of his father.
After the two talk about the movie, they take out a Windsor-powered Shelby Cobra. It’s not clear if this is a re-creation, continuation or actual Shelby Cobra—but judging by the engine bay, it’s likely one of the former.
